Nika
At this point, Nika is a content management system tailored for managing editorial workflow in a newsroom, from inception of the story until it ends up "On The Page".
It has two major components:
- The Nika Server, a Drupal-based CMS.
- The Nika Dashboard, a client program through which writers, subeditors and editors manage and develop their stories.
A key point of departure that differentiates our effort from many others is that we use Drupal and the web technology purely as a back-end service in Nika. We don't work via web browsers. We've put together a fairly comprehensive Web Service, so that the Nika CMS capabilities of Drupal are exposed and can be used by our front end Dashboard software.
The front-end Nika Dashboard is a Windows application that provides an overview of stories during their progress through the developmental pipeline, and allows writers, subs and editors to edit, refine, and manage the production process in a series of workflow queues.
